The day started real bad cause i got up with a stuck left year and its really like i've just been stuck on a 200hr flight to Mars or something and so i couldn't exactly hear in one ear. Really quite irritating cause it disrupts your day to day functioning and not to mention today was council invest and i wanted to hear pason's speech properly. But its also quite an insightful experience (though i'm not wishing for it to come back, no thank you very much) cause you begin to realise that when you can't hear, you also speak less, possibly cause you aren't really sure what or how loud you're speaking and how you sound. And so i was desperately trying to unstuck my ear and sad to say, all my feeble attempts failed. Thankfully, it unstuck itself at dinner time so i'm fine again.
One very interesting thing is the more you try to unstuck it, the more you try and listen to your surroundings, the more frustrated with yourself you get. It seems that when i was sitting alone in the tutorial room with no noise whatsoever, i felt better and the partial deafness was seemingly less obvious and frustrating.
Anyway, today was council invest and i felt it was really well done. To those who ponned the whole ceremony, I think you've missed out on a lot, you've missed a showcase of the very strong spirit forged amongst 50 plus individuals over the course of a year, you've missed the showcase of another side of school life, a side that is rich, colourful and well lived.
I think the 26th video was exceptionally well done. Concept there, actors there, music there, flow was there. The special use of a moving journey through Braddell Rd and the MRT station was also very unique for the 25th video. The 26th dance was......hilarious to watch, and not entirely very nice. But when you consider that its to entertain and not showcase dancing skills and considering their enthusiasm and how they were having fun doing it, it was all well i guess.
Had dinner with Pason and Teddy in the evening and we met the np sec 4 dudes so they joined in too. U mian and indian rojak and then bubble tea. Simple comfort food, nothing else but it was good, was good. A pity pason was so damn stoned coz he was so damned sleepy so we couldn't talk so much cock, also got young audience there lah so must restraint abit. I think we must get our np gathering going soon, a chalet or something.
A personal favourite of mine, this quote has somehow found its way into my head tonight: "I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve." - Albert Schweitzer.
So to Pason, congrats once again on your appointment and i know you'll find much joy in serving the very school that has been such a large part of your life. And even though that means having to make appointments 1 month in advance to dine with you, i still extend my best wishes and congratulations.
