To those of you who secretly thought or hoped that i've perished at sea, you're going to be disappointed cause this man is alive and well. So to those who don't already know, the last two days were spent out at sea kayaking and it was two full days of sun, sea and salt.

The odac exco comprising the 11 of us trudged our way down early in the saturday morning to ulu CCAC and that marked the start of a long day ahead. I took a Dolphin which was relatively easy to kayak in. Most of the others took the two-man open deck which looks quite romantic to kayak in, even more romantic than the Romans. So we kayaked and realised we had, in 20 minutes, covered the distance intended in 1 hr. So being way ahead of time, we decided to go beyond the intended food centre and kayaked all the way to McDonalds cause there wasnt anywhere else to beach up.

And that was when gerardlimdaoming did a titanic with gina.

Uh...no, not this.

But this. In other words, their kayak had actually started filling with water and was indeed sinking. Gerard tried to improve the situation by correcting his seating position but before anyone knew it, they had capsized. So decision was made to beach up and lunch at Macs so we can examine wad the hell went wrong with the kayak.

And because they have a thing for sinking kayaks, meiting and yishan took over this wretched boat. Ok no lah, its caused they were considerably lighter (or thought they were lighter hur hur). The journey back was initially damn screwed up cause i had to take a Dancer and cause we were behind schedule by quite a bit. So to the uninitiated, the Dancer is a light red kayak, what we categorise as a playbo- i meant playboat. And thus it is easily affected by tides currents and whatnots. Which translates to it being almost impossible to go straight. You practically have to will it with all your mind and keep using corrective strokes to get it straight, making life a lot more exciting (and tiring). Marie was really dying on the way back and Kelly (being the pointer) was also damn stressed.

So nearing CCAC, we decided to try out towing and i had the fortunate (or unfortunate) privilege to tow meiting and yishan. Towed quite a considerable distance before we beached up at long last and took to the showers, in separate bathrooms of course. And it was then that i discovered that CCAC had a nasty secret. Their showers HAD HEATER! And the girls (okay yishan) actually brought a whole armada of whatnots like conditioner, spa gel, moisturiser.

Dinner was quite a good affair as well. Mr shah suggested we buy back from Changi Village and so me, james and geraldtay valiantly volunteered (primarily cause we were doing nothing) to go with him and get the food. The people behind me almost cursed when i told the uncle i wanted 8 packs of nasi lemak. Me and james also bought a pack of carrot cake to be shared amongst us but once we brought it back, it vapourised in a matter of seconds. But nasi lemak, carrot cake and bandung, what more can a guy possibly ask for.

And we were positively surprised (or rather shocked) to see the whole PE Dept descend upon CCAC for a barbeque. It was almost like a party and i meant ALL the PE teachers were there lor. They had a bbq pit going and had salad and beer and whatnots. By the time we ended our meeting, most of them had left but their food hadn't so we helped ourselves of course. We just lay on the concrete ground stargazing with the stereo in mr shah's car blarring in the background and it was quite an experience.

The night ended with a very failed attempt to set up my hammock and with mr shah and mr leong enthusiastically playing guitar in the canteen.

The next day started quite early and we ate breakfast whilst enjoying what semblence of a sunrise there was and before we knew it, the rest of the odacians were here. Had quite an uneventful and smooth journey and we returned back way ahead of schedule with zero injuries so truly, good game to us. Then swiftly washed up and left CCAC for changi airport. At the airport i was feeling considerably undressed, oh i meant UNDERdressed cause i was wearing shorts and slippers. The airport is really a nice place and it has lots of space and few people which makes good a place to just sit and talk cock.

So that pretty much sums up two days of sunsaltsea and i'm glad to announce ive returned considerably unscathed with only 4 blister on my hands. We extend our sympathies to the one ginanq, angyishan and kellyng who got burnt like a cd.
