Love and hate relationships

Few would disagree that life is certainly not a clear cut affair. Just like how there's always covalency in ionic compounds or ionic character in covalent molecules, our like/dislike for stuff usually hinges between the two extremes.

The one thing that i truly love and hate at the same time is public holidays. Yes, public holidays. Of course, who wouldn't like an extra day off school and i usually relish at having that extra time to sleep damn late or go out with friends and usually one of my goals would be to complete work that i've been lagging in or to read some extra stuff. But more often than not i will always think i have hell lots of time and so start slacking around and before you know it, the day's past, leaving me feeling very wasted and the work is left undone. Even less productive than a normal day.

But today went east coast park to cycle. Although it wasnt really challenging and nothing especially new, sure beats sian-ing around at home and doing nothing.

Rain is another very classic case. Without doubt, rain is the sweetest lullaby created by nature and it's especially welcomed at night. The soothing sound of the raindrops hitting the zinc roofs of the carpark below coupled with the breeze accompanied by it would straighaway signal that you should jump into bed and get to sleep. But rain is no friend when it decides to spring a surprise attack on you, leaving you pretty much drenched and killing your chances of going out for that day.

And i'm very sure everyone of us has something that we both love and hate at the same time. Some things you love at certain times and hate at other occasions. Some things you love despite what you can hate it for and vice versa. Whatever the case, no matter how grey is your area, everyone's attitude definitely lies somewhere between the black and white. Can we truly love something 100% and have nothing to hate about it? Whatever the case, i think what is most sad would be one who loves to hate and hates to love.

Admittedly i like shopping though i am no shopaholic (not to be mistaken for shopping for a holick). And ironically, shopping opportunities are few and far in between. But i am one shopper who is very focussed, going out to buy something that i already have in mind and seldom just milling around. (so maybe that's not "shopping" in the gals dictionary) And inexplicably there's always this pleasure derived from finding something that i've had in mind, its almost like completing a mission. So today armed with a few hours, i managed to buy slippers and sandals and so for today i'm a happy man.

I'm quite sure i've mentioned this before but naps are truly very tricky business. A nap, inserted at the right moment and for the right duration, can go a long way in sustaining you for the next few hours at night (though you'll feel incredibly shagged the next day). But if you nap for too long, you'll find yourself in a zombie state pretty much for the rest of the night and there goes the time to do any work. And the most sever misemployment (is there such a word?) of time happened last night. I was supposed to nap from 10pm to 11pm (since no one online to talk to) and i didnt even hear the alarm clock i set. When i next woke up i was left wondering whether i was in the 2x00 hours or the 0x00 hours. It was freaking 4.45am. And feeling hungry and still tired, i just hit back into bed. But that is of course very rare occurence, or so i hope.
