12 hours
(This post is dedicated to Ann Liang for being incredibly funny and Muthu for his foresight in watching Narnia beforehand or we would have ended up watching a boring old movie today instead of biking)
So we had a biking trip today which was a rather random decision made last night. Thankfully i found that ECP (east coast park) is connected all the way to pasir ris by park connectors. As usual with all cycling trips the neither the bikes, nor the brakes, nor the chain, nor the heat matters but it's the fellowship :D Though the bike matters a bit, coz the regular "brother" bike shop we go to didn't want to offer us a good bike at $4 so we went next door lor. "Brother" must be having a bad hair day today.
People like Teddy who is like king of accidents. We do hope his crown jewels are ok. People like Muthu who "checks out" every female (human) being that passes us and ends up attracting bees. And not forgetting Pason who tries to pose by wearing sunglasses and cycle at top speed. Not forgetting his jokes...
"We should cycle for a few hours then stop and eat and replenish energy then cycle again then stop and eat again. AH! It's a cycle!" *laughs to himself*
Congratulations to me for cracking a truly funny joke today though i koped it from Reader's Digest. A woman was reading the papers with headlines that read "12 Brazillian Soldiers Killed". She shakes her head and starts sighing before turning over to some fella next to her and asks "How much is a brazillian?".
Ok so our route took us from ECP to telok kurau park which has a damn challenging playground. Then we go to Bedok Reservoir park and finally Tampines "Sun Plaza" park.
So the accident of the century took place when mr teddy crashes into a tree. Now note that this is no ordinary humongous tree but one of those uber small and slender young "treelings". And we were not on some dangerously steep, deeply forested area but on a wide paved cycling track. Amazing how this guy crashed into that puny treeling.
The journey back was relatively uneventful except that we had to, at one point, carry the bikes up and down a overhead bridge (with no slope of course) because of a silly wrong turn. And of course we broke about half a dozen traffic rules, hehe.
Left ECP at 5pm to take 13 back to school where teddy had some psl sharing thingy. Wah i felt so horrible on the bus. Migraine + Nausea really was killing me. Luckily there was totally nothing in my stomach to throw up. But everything was solved when i dug into my bowl of prawn mee at S11 with a cup of oversweetened hot milo. So my young padawan, it is obvious that this was all caused by extreme hunger. To be more precise its 4 hours without food and lunch was a mere bowl of fried fish bee hoon. Never knew hunger could cause such extreme reactions. We are too fortunate in singapore man.
So since we were banned (!!!) from joining in the psl thing coz we were inappropriately dressed (dun anyhow think), we settled for a pre orientation orientation of the grounds of RJC. Drifting awhile for 15 minutes we met a chinese security guard. His name will not be disclosed to protect him. Asking us where we're from and wad on earth we were doing in rj at 7pm, i basically thought this guy was gonna gan3 us out man. But hearing that we were here to familiarise ourselves he quickly offered a short intro of the various buildings before lamenting that at night got nothing to see. He also warned that we might meet "his boss" and then got trouble but ended the conversation by saying - "just tell him i allow you to go around". That is the true spirit of security guards.
It's sad that RJ has such plain architecture but at night its quite worth exploring. What with the red skies and light rain. The climax of the tour was when we went near the second floor of the indoor sports hall. In the totally dark corridor, Muthu made the acute observation that "there's light behind that door". So i beckoned them to move forward and check it out, but they ended up running back and i being the np cadet of 4 years basically, ran along with them. So much for bravery lor.
So the whole day had to end with our traditional (eeks sounds old) bubble tea session where we picked up worm and shaun liu as well. This is where the bomb of the century happens. I received a phone call from Ann Liang (whom we met earlier at s11 and he had to go cat high for a campfire) called at 9.30pm. This is the transcript in its full glory (phone was on speaker):
Ann Liang: "Hello gerald, are you all still at RI?"
Me: "Er no, we are at bubble tea shop"
Ann Liang: "Are you all still at RI?"
Me (a little exasperated): "No, we are at bubble tea shop"
Ann Liang: "Can i join you? where are you guys?"
!!! Everyone was totally rofl. Ann Liang then mumble some stuff to himself and hangs up. At around 10.30 while i was with teddy waiting for bus home, i receive a phone call. And you guessed it......it was ann liang. And he asks "Are you all at RI?".
He is really the epitome of humour. Intentionally of not, i think he is damn funny stuff. But not to mock you or wad mr ang, we sincerely congratulate for surviving 2 weeks of CI course and 4 days of camp at ubin :P
And with that my body indicates that it needs rest so i gtslp. (Btw mr tang, tmr only got 2 hours of CSI only lor - 3pm - 5pm. Sad.) Thank God for the good weather today, totally no rain and also for bringing me home in one piece except for a sore toe.
Goodnight people. Cycling rocks.
