aye. shall blog about the happenings of the past week. it seems so loooong ago that OP was over when it was just on monday. anyway, that's over and done with and PW has officially concluded. i guess its a good relief but honestly speaking PW wasn't something dreadful for me and i daresay much was learnt from it.
tuesday caught inconvenient truth at vivocity. it's quite a good film although certains parts were unnecessarily politicised and too emotional. but nonetheless you leave the show with a feeling that global warming is certainly a direct consequence of our irresponsible actions, and despair that much of the power to solve it is in the hands of our politicians, many of whom are trying to disprove the legitimacy of the climate change problem. but at the very end, you're left with suggestions to maintain a zero carbon contribution. quite interesting. before the movie, me james and malcolm went immigration to renew passport, where we met nivek. and the woman of counter24, who totally pwnz and kicks ass. all hail singapore bureaucracy.
wednesday was class outing. ice skating at jurong. the turnout was surprisingly good. but only me and cherie and shawn could ice skate, so it was quite hilarious. seeing people try very hard to learn, others trying very hard to pretend to look good and others just bumping their way all over. quite a sight. and then those little kids come and totally own you with their jumps and backward skating and what nots.
the haha of the day must have been a notice that advertised "group stroking lessons". and then of course that was this fat biatch that manned the counter and she served up the worst service ever. she practically acted as if she freaking owned the rink. anyway, i concussed for 4 hours straight after that. dunno why also.
thursday was spent at cip in the morning, whereby it totally poured. and at night was supposed to be night cycling. why do i use the word "supposed"?
parent's permission - checked.
weather good - checked.
good number of odacians (13 in fact!) - checked.
bikes - oh shit.
the damned bike shop was closed. no it packed up. totally gone. and we were left stranded at ECP at 9pm with nothing more than our two legs. so a quick plan was devised to catch a midnight movie at orchard. that's when weepin, gerard, shawn and zhixuan grandly pangseh-ed me and left for zhixuan's house to play mahjong. so me, mich, qianhua, yingzi, rng and angie were left to catch A Good Year.
which was quite a good show, starring russel crowe and a lead actress i cannot recognise. dun feel like repeating the storyline here. but do catch it if you can it's not bad. quite a ha-ha, quite a good storyline, and quite meaningful. i think i shall go find the book it's based on. and one line from the show that i still remember is "it's not the place that does not suit you. it's you that do not suit the place." i guess ultimately it questions what kind of life you want to lead and whether you want to do things out of passion or for the greater tangible instant returns.
before the movie we had stingray and orh luat at the nearby kopitiam. it was d a m n shiok. then after movie we went swensens for friesanddip and ice cream. our amazing appetite. then it was off to skate park to "see stars". we ended up falling asleep. woke at 5am and walked to botanic gardens. which was damn far away. then yingzi rng angie qianhua left for home and school so me and mich explored botanic gardens. which was quite impressive considering the range of flora it offered. a pity pretty much of it is away from its natural surroundings. then we popped over to zhixuan's house nearby for some breakfast and mahjong. that roughly concludes our night out gallavanting and supposed "night cycling."
that rightly sums up the week which has past in the blink of an eye. its only 6 days before we fly. can hardly wait. yet cannot believe that it's here so soon.

I Need To Wake Up by Melissa Etheridge
Have I been sleeping?
I’ve been so still
Afraid of crumbling
Have I been careless?
Dismissing all the distant rumblings
Take me where I am supposed to be
To comprehend the things that I can’t see
Cause I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
And as a child
I danced like it was 1999
My dreams were wild
But the promise of this new world
Would be mine
Now I am throwing off the carelessness of youth
To listen to an inconvenient truth
Well I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
I am not an island
I am not alone
I am my intentions
Trapped here in this flesh and bone
And I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
I want to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
Have I been sleeping?
I’ve been so still
Afraid of crumbling
Have I been careless?
Dismissing all the distant rumblings
Take me where I am supposed to be
To comprehend the things that I can’t see
Cause I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
And as a child
I danced like it was 1999
My dreams were wild
But the promise of this new world
Would be mine
Now I am throwing off the carelessness of youth
To listen to an inconvenient truth
Well I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
I am not an island
I am not alone
I am my intentions
Trapped here in this flesh and bone
And I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
if some kind soul finds the mp3 for this song please please send me. its the ending song from inconvenient truth. have a blessed week y'all.
I want to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now
